The sheer number and variety of diagnostic x-ray machines has created a need for persons trained in x-ray physics and inspection techniques. To meet this need, ORAU conducts a 40-hour training course—X-Ray Physics for Inspectors.

Diagnostic X-ray physics courseThis one-week, laboratory-oriented course examines the physics of x-ray equipment operation and principles of x-ray imaging. Laboratory exercises consist of field measurements typically performed during inspections of x-ray machines and facilities. Lecture and laboratory topics include:

Who Should Attend

This course is for individuals who need practical experience in performing measurements of x-ray equipment, and for individuals who need continuing education in x-ray physics. The Food and Drug Administration has approved portions of the course as meeting continuing education requirements for mammography (MQSA) inspectors.

Cost

Tuition of $1,795 includes the full cost of training, books, and instructional materials.
