Stakeholder Group Assistance
“Several years ago ORAU gave our Citizens’ Advisory Panel members an in-depth workshop on how they accomplished independent verification work. We all left feeling confident that this was an effective way of ensuring that the decontamination work met the required standards.”~ Susan Gawarecki, Executive Director, Oak Ridge Reservation Local Oversight Committee |
Concerned about the cleanup of a contaminated site in your area? Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) understands your concern and works to educate cleanup regulators, contractors and the public about the necessity of independent verification to ensure decontamination and decommissioning efforts meet regulatory standards for release.
We have experience building strong relationships with stakeholders, providing routine briefings and training workshops to improve their understanding of site cleanup. We even provided individual tours of our laboratory operations for members of the Rocky Flats Advisory Board.
Because our work is independent, we report our results regardless of outcome. Our reputation counts on it, and we make unbiased recommendations to the cleanup regulator to ensure that risk-based end states have been achieved. Our reports consistently represent our objective findings—good, bad or indifferent. We call it like we see it.
