Gregorich Hired as ORAU’s New Manager of Desktop Support
OAK RIDGE, Tenn. –Carl Gregorich has been hired as manager of desktop support for Oak Ridge Associated Universities’ (ORAU) Information Systems Department. Gregorich will be responsible for managing the department’s desktop and service desk staff along with the coordinating functions and budgets. He will also manage IT technical projects, including all desktop installation processes, user procedures, and user cyber security functions for ORAU’s more than 900 employees.
“We're very excited to have Carl on board,” said Tony Schubert, interim director of ORAU’s Information Systems Department. “His knowledge, enthusiasm, and vast amount of relevant IT experience make him a great fit with our team.”
Gregorich brings to the position 20 years of experience in the IT field, including 10 years of project and staff management. Previous positions held by Gregorich include manager of computer services for the Del Norte County Unified School District in Crescent City, Calif.; manager of end user support/metrics and process for the Orange County Superior Court in Santa Ana, Calif.; and senior network engineer for Borders Group Inc., Automatic Data Processing, in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Gregorich holds a bachelor's degree in administration from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant. He has training in PMP and Cisco certification.
ORAU is a university consortium leveraging the scientific strength of 98 major research institutions to advance science and education by partnering with national laboratories, government agencies, and private industry. ORAU manages the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education for the U.S. Department of Energy.
