Key words: Neural networks modeling, realistic neuron networks, high performance computing, computer simulations, computational neuroscience
Recent advances in imaging and analysis of structural, functional and effective connectivity patterns in brain networks provide new information about normal and/or pathological brain activity. Computational neural modeling can aid in validation and better interpretation of this new experimental results. This research opportunity may involve implementation of biophysically realistic networks of large number of neurons on high performance supercomputers. Applicants should have a strong computational and/or mathematical background and interest in computational neuroscience.
