Full-time one-year appointments are renewable up to three years; postdoc appointments are renewable up to four years. Students can participate fulltime or parttime as long as they meet eligibility requirements. Appointments for students can be during the summer or winter breaks, or during the academicic year.

Navy and Marine Corp Public Health Center (NMCPHC)
The Navy and Marine Corp Public Health Center (NMCPHC) ensures Navy and Marine Corps Readiness through leadership in prevention of disease and promotion of health. Through the ORISE program the NMCPHC provides opportunities to participate in on-going applied research and development projects in the areas of Environmental Health, Engineering, Biological Sciences, Public Health, Occupational and Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Sanitation and Hygiene, and Laboratory Services.
