Partnerships for Innovation

As local, regional, and national organizations work to spur economic development, create more jobs, take healthcare to new levels of excellence, strengthen scientific research and technology, and enhance education, our communities continue to grow and thrive.
Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) is a beneficiary of these strong communities, and as such, is committed to partnering with and investing in the valuable work of these organizations to achieve mutually shared objectives.
Some of the organizations that ORAU proudly supports include:
Since becoming Anderson County’s Imagination Library corporate sponsor in 2001, ORAU has sent more than 98,000 free books to every registered child in the county each month from birth until age five. If you would like to register your child in the program, complete the online registration form. For more information, contact April Hackler at april.hackler@orau.org or (865) 241-4339.
ORAU is an active member of the East Tennessee Economic Council, an organization created to support the government’s missions in Oak Ridge and to create new economic opportunities in the region.
ORAU donated $25,000 to Junior Achievement (JA) of East Tennessee’s JA Biz Town, a simulated business community that allows an estimated 13,000 fifth graders to gain a working understanding of business and government through real–world experience.
ORAU supports the Knoxville Oak Ridge Innovation Valley, which represents a 16–county region in East Tennessee and is tasked with implementing a five-year economic blueprint for the area.
ORAU helps support the non–profit Tennessee Valley Corridor, Inc., with its efforts to promote the area as one of the nation’s premiere science and technology centers.
As a Gold Millennium partner, ORAU strongly supports the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce and its mission to enhance the economic vitality of the greater Oak Ridge area.
ORAU fulfilled its $1 million pledge to the Oak Ridge Public Schools Education Foundation, which supported the construction of the new Oak Ridge High School in 2008.
