Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) sponsored eight students from its member institutions to attend the 51st Annual Meeting of Nobel Laureates in Lindau, Germany. The program gave the students the opportunity of a lifetime to convene with Nobel Prize winners in physics, chemistry, physiology and medicine for a week of lectures, roundtable discussions and informal meetings.

The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education’s (ORISE) health communications program worked with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Immunization Program to develop and test the information being provided to parents about various vaccinations.

The Radiation Emergency Assistance Center/Training Site (REAC/TS) celebrated 25 years of service. Since its beginning, REAC/TS has trained more than 4,000 people from 53 countries in how to respond to a radiation accident, responded to more than 1,200 calls for assistance from around the world, hosted international conferences, and implemented the use of two drugs for treating patients with internal radiation contamination.
