ARC-ORNL Photo Contest Rules and Requirements
July 11-24, 2009

OVERVIEW: Why an ARC-ORNL Photo Contest?

We need your help in building up a collection of photos we can use on Web sites and other internal communications’ platforms, in department reports, proposals, etc. Therefore, we want to capture as many aspects as possible of this two-week event while highlighting, recognizing and awarding your photographic talent. Have fun!

RULES/REQUIREMENTS

Open to all ARC participants
Photos must be originated/created by an ARC participant
Photos must be digital, of high-resolution quality and unedited

Each photo must accompany a Photo Submission Form. Without a submission form, your photo(s) will be eliminated from the contest. The following information must be included:

• Your Name
• Your Mailing Address
• Your Phone Number and E-mail Address
• Date
• Location
• Event Name (if applicable)
• Name of each individual pictured in the photo

You may need to use multiple submission forms for multiple photo entries.

Acceptable Photos

• ARC Projects, Meetings or Gatherings
• ARC Participants (group, team or individual shots; special recognitions)
• ORAU  Staff members (group, team or individual shots; special recognitions)

Unacceptable Photos

• General elements/Items in nature (i.e., wildlife, trees, flowers, waterfalls, sunsets, etc.)
• Personal vacations, events or milestones
• Family members and friends
• Overly staged or contrived photos

Deadline to submit photos for the contest is July 31. All images become the property of ORAU and cannot be returned.

WINNER SELECTION

A professional photographer will judge the entries based on quality and artistic value.

• First place “Best in Show”: $50 gift card, digital photo frame, photo op and publicity (total prize value: $100)
• Second place: $50 gift card and publicity
• Third place: $25 gift card and publicity
• Honorable Mention: Publicity

Winners will be announced on August 17.

Winning entries may be placed on display at an ORAU facility or otherwise used to promote the organization.
