This research focuses on computational methods for identification, modeling and anticipating the structure and dynamics of human groups, organizations, networks, and societies. Opportunities exist in the following areas:
- information fusion for social modeling and analysis
- identification of covert organizations and networks from sparse information
- dynamics of networks and groups due to internal developments and external stimuli
- formation of attitudes, opinions and beliefs
- anticipation of asymmetric course of action in insurgencies
- identification of deception and counter-deception
- estimation of communications impact
- impact of socio-cultural factors in ethnically and culturally diverse societies
- PMESII effects of DIME actions in distressed societies
- low-cost, self-generating, self-calibrating models
