Mathematical and Experimental Physics of Quantum Information Processing

Mathematical physics-based analyses will be applied to problems of quantum information processing including quantum computing, quantum communication, and quantum cryptography. Problem areas will include, but are not limited to (1) quantum information-theoretic analyses of quantum cryptographic systems; (2) analyses of operating characteristics of qubit devices, including quantum computers; (3) quantum control theory applied to quantum information processing systems; (4) differential geometric approaches to quantum computer analysis; and (5) quantum information theoretic approaches to pattern recognition. Experimental research on quantum information processing including quantum computing and quantum communication, if appropriate, may also be included.
