Illness and Injury Surveillance

Proactively identifying groups of workers that may be at increased risk for occupation-related injury and illness allows you to respond rapidly to worker health concerns.

With our experience in epidemiologic surveillance, Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) can help you to assess the overall health of your workforce, regardless of how many sites and facilities you may have. If the study indicates excess risk, we can then decide if additional investigations are needed.

Our Approach
Our management approach to illness and injury surveillance provides you with timely health information. It enhances your ability to address worker health concerns.

National Supplemental Screening Program (NSSP)
ORAU—along with its partners, National Jewish Medical and Research Center, Comprehensive Health Services, and Occupational HealthLink—manages this medical screening program for DOE. It offers free medical exams to former DOE workers, regardless of where they currently live.

Department of Energy (DOE) Illness and Injury Surveillance Program
Under its contract to manage the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education, ORAU supports DOE's effort to use epidemiologic surveillance to assess the overall health of the current DOE workforce at 14 sites and facilities.

LPT Test

ORAU coordinates medical screenings to help its clients monitor the occupation-related illnesses and injuries of their employees.
