Project Highlight: Celebrating the Placement of the 1000th Participant in the U.S. Army Environmental Center Participant Program
In 2005, we celebrated the placement of the 1000th program participant in the U.S. Army Environmental Center Participant Program (USAEC). Since 1994, the USAEC program has placed hundreds of students and faculty in its 50 installations around the world. ORAU manages this program through its Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE).

Says Col. Tony R. Francis, commander for the U.S. Army Environmental Center: "The ORISE program is providing an excellent opportunity for the Army to develop its work force of the future. The program gives participants the chance to develop an understanding of the Army’s mission, its readiness requirements and its business challenges."
The USAEC program is just one of many that ORAU employees administer for the U.S. Department of Defense. You can search our online catalog for a complete listing of programs.
