Dade Moeller & Associates
ORAU and its partners, Dade Moeller & Associates (DMA) and MJW Corporation Inc. (MJW), were awarded a contract to assist the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in fulfilling its responsibilities under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA).
Per the EEOICPA, NIOSH is responsible for reconstructing the amount of radiation exposure received by more than 18,000 former energy employees at various U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and DOE contractor facilities.
For families of employee’s who have become ill or have died as a result of working in a nuclear energy facility, the Act provides monetary reimbursement plus medical benefits.
NIOSH enlisted the help of ORAU, DMA, and MJW to:
- conduct one-on-one interviews with the claimants,
- coordinate the gathering of and substantiation for individual monitoring data,
- provide documentation of exposure conditions, and
- prepare individual dose reconstruction (DR) reports.
ORAU is also responsible for the evaluation of Special Exposure Cohort petitions received by the Institute.
