Herman Sutton’s 5th grade math classroom at Green Magnet Math and Science Academy recently underwent a $25,000 technology transformation after winning ORAU’s 2011 Extreme Classroom Makeover in April. On Aug. 9, 2011, ORAU officially unveiled the math hero’s updated room during an open house.
While Mr. Sutton’s room received small physical changes such as new coat of paint and curtains, the bulk of improvement was showcased in the new technology. Apple iPads, laptops and a desktop, along with interactive clickers and a new TV now provide an interactive learning environment for Mr. Sutton’s students.
