Partnerships for Innovation
| Brief description: | Week-long academy filled with exciting and challenging activities. Working in small teams students will design, build, and program a robot. Students will have an opportunity to tour Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s research facilities and learn from robotics and engineering research scientists. |

| Eligibility: | Students with an interest in science and technology who will be enrolled in the 7th, 8th, or 9th grade during the 2012-2013 school year. (Currently in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades) |

| Time: | 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday |
| Location: | Oak Ridge Associated Universities |
| Cost: | No registration fee is required. All registration and weekly fees are covered by the program sponsors. |
| Presentation day: | ORAU will host family and friends of students on Friday afternoon as they present their final robotics design, research and programming. |
| Additional information: | Participants will be responsible for providing a bag lunch and transportation to and from the academy daily. Transportation during the day for tours or activities will be provided by the academy. Students must be able and willing to follow instructions and abide by all safety procedures. |

| Registration: | 2012 Robotics Academy Online Application Deadline for applications: April 15. Registration is limited to 24 students. Applicants will be notified of selection by May 15. |
