Hands-on experience in business development, strategic planning, and corporate management with a proven track record of success. Since 1995, focus of work has been in education and research administration for students in the United States and abroad. Following a career of more than 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, including more than two years as Commandant (University President) at the Air Force Institute of Technology, Townsend became ORAU President in 1997.
