Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) began in 1946 as a group of Southeastern universities eager to gain access to the many scientific advances made in Oak Ridge during the secret city's participation in the Manhattan Project.

During the past 60 years the ORAU consortium has grown from that original group of 14 universities—all located in the South—to 99 members across the United States as well as in Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom.

Use the links below to learn more about the ORAU consortium, its members, the benefits of belonging to the group, and the latest activities of these schools.
