UT-Battelle/ORNL Partnership

Since its inception in 1946, ORAU has placed its highest priority on facilitating research by university-based scientists at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).

Over the past 60 years, both ORAU and ORNL have grown and developed dramatically, but the partnership between the two institutions remains strong.

ORNL is operated by UT-Battelle, a company created by the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and Battelle, Inc. of Columbus, Ohio, strictly for the purpose of managing ORNL.
