Introduction

The use of radioactive materials in industry, research, and medicine has created a need for many facilities to perform routine air sampling in both the workplace and the environment. To help meet the need for trained personnel in this area, ORAU conducts a five-day training course— Air Sampling for Radioactive Materials. The American Academy of Health Physics will grant 32 Continuing Education Credits for completion of this course. The American Board of Industrial Hygiene grants 5.0 Certification Maintenance Points to CIHs for completion of this course.

Description

This one-week laboratory-oriented course introduces participants to the basic theories and mechanics of air sampling for radionuclides. Approximately 40% of the time is spent collecting and analyzing air samples; the remainder is devoted to lectures.

Who should attend

This course is for individuals with limited theoretical background and/or practical work experience who must establish and/or run an air sampling program.

Cost

$1,895 — The tuition includes the full cost of training, books, and instructional materials. Attendees will also receive a free copy of the PTP Electronic Library DVD.
