Call for Abstracts—Instructions to Proposers
Abstracts are being solicited for poster presentations for the TVA Kingston Fly Ash Release Environmental Research Symposium to be held March 11-12, 2010, at Roane State Community College, Harriman, Tennessee. The symposium will be an opportunity for researchers conducting investigations related to the Kingston site to exchange information, coordinate their efforts, identify gaps in current research and technology relating to the impacts of fly ash in the environment, and to contribute to prioritizing future investigations. Research presented should be clearly relevant to the Kingston site. Abstracts are limited to a maximum of 3000 characters, including spaces, and are due no later than 11:59 p.m., February 7, 2010. Notifications of acceptance will be issued no later than February 22. Authors should follow the outline and format described below for abstracts. Submit your poster abstract using the Poster Abstract Submittal System.
Abstract Outline
- Purpose and Objectives of the investigation: (What did you hope to accomplish with this research? What are you trying to accomplish?)
- Approach or Experimental Design: (How did you conduct the investigation?)
- Results or Findings to Date: (What have you learned so far?)
- Significance and Benefit of Results to Kingston Ash Recovery Program: (Why does it matter to Kingston?)
- Continued or Future Studies: (What comes next in this line of investigation?)
Poster presentations should follow the same format, must be no larger than 48” X 72”, and must use font styles and sizes easily readable at a distance of five feet. Authors must provide Velcro hook tape or push pins for mounting posters on table-top-mounted felt-covered poster boards.
