What: 2010 Annual Education Grant Award Ceremony and Reception
Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) will award 15 teachers and administrators from 11 area schools/school systems with more than $31,000 in grant monies to fund a variety of educational programs and equipment requests. These include the purchase of Promethean boards, iPod touches, microscopes, computers, calculators and an array of other scientific, mathematics and technical learning materials.
Program speakers will include ORAU President H. Andy Page and ORAU Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Phil Andrews.
Information regarding the 2011 Extreme Classroom Makeover competition will also be available at the event.

Why: Since 2002—the beginning of the ORAU Education Grant program—ORAU has provided more than $240,000 to area schools for projects that support ORAU’s mission of enriching science, technology, engineering and mathematics programs.
