Kennedy Joins ORAU as Director of Business Development

OAK RIDGE, Tenn.—Jamey Kennedy has been hired as director of business development for Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU). In her new role, Kennedy is responsible for directing ORAU’s response to strategically important business opportunities, building new capabilities in sales and targeted marketing, cost estimating and pricing, contract negotiations and management. She also designs and develops business systems for tracking business opportunities, customer relations management, capture management and proposal production.

"Jamey brings outstanding experience and ability in business development to ORAU," said Tony Lester, ORAU vice president of strategic development. "She will make a significant positive impact as we move forward. We are fortunate to have her on board."

Prior to joining ORAU, Kennedy spent more than 27 years in business development and technical writing services for the Oak Ridge division of Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). Throughout the course of her career at SAIC, Kennedy oversaw efforts to acquire multiple federal procurements and was responsible for all business development activities including capture strategy, corporate marketing material and presentations, as well as a variety of other communication efforts.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kennedy holds a B.A. in English and psychology and has served as a technical writer and managing editor for the Pittsburgh Energy Technology Center Review, a quarterly journal documenting the U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Coal Technology Program.
