Hamilton Joins ORAU as Controller

OAK RIDGE, Tenn.—R. Wayne Hamilton, CPA, has been named controller for Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU). Hamilton is filling the position originally held by ORAU’s Patsy Pehrson who was recently promoted to ORAU’s director of financial operations.

As controller, Hamilton will serve as chief accountant and principal liaison with ORAU internal audit, independent auditors, and other management evaluation and financial groups. He will also provide accounting and financial advice to senior management, and manage the General Ledger and Disbursements staff.

“We are very excited to have Wayne join our financial operations team,” said Phil Andrews, ORAU vice president for business operations and chief financial officer. “He has the auditing and accounting experience necessary to help ORAU and ORISE continue to excel.”

With more than 18 years of financial experience, Hamilton most recently served as the audit and accounting manager at Albright & Company, LLC, where he prepared audits, reviews and compilations of financial statements, and corporate and personal tax returns. Previously, Hamilton served as finance director at Helen Ross McNabb Center and as senior auditor at Bacon, Howard & Company, CPAs.

Hamilton received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Tennessee Technological University. He is a certified public accountant.
