OAK RIDGE, Tenn.—Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) and National Resource Management, LLC, recently signed an agreement for a two-year supportive relationship as provided under the U.S. Department of Energy's Mentor-Protégé Program. Through this relationship, ORAU serves as a business mentor to National Resource Management, LLC, providing consultation on a variety of business practices and opportunities, promoting economic and technological growth and helping to enhance the company as a self-sustaining, viable business.
National Resource Management, LLC, is a woman-owned, 8(a)-certified, small disadvantaged business in Knoxville, Tenn., that has served as a contractor on multiple construction and engineering projects for ORAU and may continue to do so as ORAU's protégé.
The Mentor-Protégé Program is designed to encourage approved mentors to provide various forms of assistance to eligible protégé participants. The purpose of the ORAU mentor-protégé relationship is to enhance the capabilities of the protégés and to improve their ability to successfully compete for federal contracts.
Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) is a university consortium leveraging the scientific strength of 101 major research institutions to advance science and education by partnering with national laboratories, government agencies, and private industry. ORAU manages the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education for the U.S. Department of Energy.
