Hopson Joins ORAU as Senior Communications and Marketing Specialist

OAK RIDGE, Tenn.— Rebecca (Becki) Akers Hopson, APR, has been named senior communications and marketing specialist for Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU). In her new role, Hopson will serve as a team lead and key media relations contact for ORAU. She will also serve as project manager for a variety of ORAU communications and strategic marketing initiatives and will provide leadership on public and community relations endeavors.

"With her depth of experience in public and media relations and employee communications, Becki will provide strong support for strengthening the ORAU brand and will deliver effective communications to ORAU's employees and key stakeholders."

Prior to joining ORAU, Hopson served 11 years as a communication manager at the General Motors Company in Detroit, Mich. Before that, Hopson spent 12 years as a communication specialist at the Tennessee Valley Authority in Knoxville, Tenn. She received both her bachelor's and master's of science degrees in communications from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Hopson is also an accredited professional of the Public Relations Society of America.
