ORAU and Imagination Library Bring Books to Life

CLINTON, Tenn.—Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and the Penguin Players this week portrayed the popular book Llama Llama Red Pajama to a packed gymnasium of children at South Clinton Elementary School.

Since 2001, Oak Ridge Associated Universities has sponsored Anderson County’s Imagination Library program, sending out more than 98,000 free books to every registered child in the county, from birth to age five.

To promote the popular program, ORAU assisted in facilitating similar performances for the drama group’s 10 stops at Anderson County schools this week as the players went on the road.

Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) is a university consortium leveraging the scientific strength of 101 major research institutions to advance science and education by partnering with national laboratories, government agencies, and private industry. ORAU manages the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education for the U.S. Department of Energy.
