ORAU donates $10,000 to Weinberg Memorial Fund

OAK RIDGE, Tenn.—Pictured from L to R: Weinberg Memorial Fund committee members Tom Row and Steve Stow accepted a $10,000 donation from Oak Ridge Associated Universities President and CEO Andy Page. The money will be used to place bronze plaques engraved with a quote from Alvin Weinberg at the American Museum of Science and Energy and the Graphite Reactor; produce a film about Weinberg; annual lecture series and workshop in conjunction with the UT Baker Center; and rename the tennis courts located at Jackson Square, where Weinberg often played.

Through specialized teams of experts, unique laboratory capabilities and access to a consortium of more than 100 major Ph.D.-granting institutions, ORAU works with federal, state, local and commercial customers to advance national priorities and serve the public interest. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation and federal contractor, ORAU manages the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
