ORAU wins multiple PRSA Awards

The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Volunteer Chapter recently awarded ORAU three first-place awards of excellence and three merit awards during its annual awards ceremony

ORAU received an award of excellence for its 2013 Extreme Classroom Makeover campaign in which Karla Fultz, a fifth-grade teacher at A. L. Lotts Elementary, won a $25,000 technology classroom makeover.

OAK RIDGE, Tenn.—The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Volunteer Chapter recently awarded ORAU three first-place awards of excellence and three merit awards during its annual awards ceremony. The awards recognize excellence in public relations programs, products and achievements in the East Tennessee region, and eight total awards of excellence were awarded among those companies entering the competition.

ORAU won awards for the following categories and projects:

Awards of Excellence

  • Community Relations—2013 ORAU Extreme Classroom Makeover Contest
  • Internal Videos—ORAU Strategic Plan Videos
  • Publications—Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education Impact Book

Awards of Merit

  • Internal Communications—ORAU Strategic Plan Campaign
  • Creative Tactics—STEM shirt and Appalachian Regional Commission Summer and Math-Science-Technology Institute Yearbook
  • Publications—2013 ORAU Annual Report
