Contract Signing for New ORAU/ORISE Center for Science Education
Facility Scheduled to Open in December 2008
WHAT: Contract signing with Partners Development (www.partnersinfo.com) for the new Center for Science Education (CSE)
WHEN: Thursday, April 5, 2007; signing will take place at 2:30 p.m.
WHERE: Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE); Building MC-212, Third Floor Balcony
Building MC-212 is located on the ORAU/ORISE main campus adjacent to the Pollard Technology Conference Center at 212 Badger Avenue in Oak Ridge (see visitor’s map).
WHY: The Center for Science Education will house the ORAU president’s office, ORAU executives, Human Resources Department and ORAU/ORISE Science Education programs
Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) is a university consortium leveraging the scientific strength of 98 major research institutions to advance science and education by partnering with national laboratories, government agencies, and private industry. ORAU manages the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education for the U.S. Department of Energy.
The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) is a U.S. Department of Energy institute focusing on scientific initiatives to research health risks from occupational hazards, assess environmental cleanup, respond to radiation medical emergencies, support national security and emergency preparedness, and educate the next generation of scientists. ORISE is managed by Oak Ridge Associated Universities.
