ORCAS Conducts Workshops on the Future of Energy in Appalachia

On behalf of the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), the Oak Ridge Center for Advanced Studies (ORCAS) is conducting three workshops about the future of energy in Appalachia.

The governors of the 13 Appalachian states and the ARC federal co-chair have called for the creation of an “Energy Blueprint,” in light of the changing energy supply, policy, and use environment.  The blueprint will focus on job creation; energy efficiency and conservation; and economic competitiveness in the Appalachian Region.

For more details and to access meeting agendas and presentations, visit the ORCAS Web site.

The ORAU-supported Oak Ridge Center for Advanced Studies (ORCAS) is a think and do consortium of research universities, government, industry, and non-governmental organizations that focuses on critical issues with strong science and technology content.
