ORAU to Sponsor "A Celebration of Music" to Commemorate Black History Month
WHAT: ORAU’s Diversity Council will sponsor "A Celebration of Music" to commemorate Black History Month

Members of “Praise, Honour and Glory,” a Knoxville-based Christian music ministry which provides outreach to churches, schools, charities and the community at large, will sing gospel, hymns and spirituals during a one-hour program to commemorate Black History Month at ORAU’s Pollard Technology Conference Center Auditorium.
“Praise, Honour and Glory” includes members from sixteen churches in five cities and four denominations and has supported Knoxville and surrounding communities through its involvement in projects for Habitat for Humanity, The Soup Kitchen, Christmas Angel Trees, Crutcher Memorial Youth Enrichment Center, International 4H, Children's Defense Fund, The Literacy Imperative, Knox Area Rescue Ministries, and the Knoxville Museum of Art.
Besides cities in Tennessee, the group has traveled to Georgia, Virginia, Ohio and South Carolina performing concerts. In 2004, the group released its first full recording project, "Sing Unto The Lord."
The event is open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
ORAU is a university consortium leveraging the scientific strength of 96 major research institutions to advance science and education by partnering with national laboratories, government agencies, and private industry. ORAU manages the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education for the U.S. Department of Energy.
