The knowledge and skill derived from three decades of experience, combined with established and effective national partnerships, have made Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) one of the most respected epidemiologic research entities in America.
As a leader in epidemiologic research, ORAU has performed studies of mortality among U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear workers and occupational health studies of DOE worker populations. This expertise led to the establishment of what is now known as the Center for Epidemiologic Research (CER).
Since the early 1990s, CER researchers have concentrated on building and maintaining worker health registries and conducting morbidity studies. CER retains all of the expertise needed to perform studies of occupational exposure to radiation and chemicals.
Specifically, CER’s capabilities include:
