Medical Screening Process and Sign-up

Step-by-Step Explanation

Important Note: If you attempted to sign up for a medical screening through our website before July 1, 2009 and your email was rejected, please re-send your information. The technical problem has been resolved and the link is working properly.

To learn more about the screening process, please see the document Kingston Project Medical Screenings: What Can I Expect? New (PDF).

Step 1: Sign up to begin the medical screening process. An ORAU representative will call you to complete a medical questionnaire over the phone. As an alternative, individuals may request that a questionnaire be mailed to them.

NOTE: ORAU must receive your completed questionnaire by phone or mail before you can be scheduled for the clinic exam.

Step 2: Vanderbilt University Medical Center's medical toxicologists will review each questionnaire and order specific tests to be conducted based on your responses to the questionnaire.

Step 3: An ORAU representative will call you to schedule a pre-appointment lab test and give you directions to the clinic.

Step 4: Report to the clinic at your scheduled time for a pre-appointment lab test, which will be based on your medical history and the questionnaire.

Step 5: When the lab results are returned, ORAU will call you to schedule a physical exam by a doctor. The doctor will review the lab tests with you and discuss the results of the tests and your physical exam.

Step 6: You will receive a letter from ORAU with your lab results to allow for any further consultation.

Individuals can request a medical screening by calling ORAU at (865) 576-3115 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to talk to an ORAU representative, who will complete the medical questionnaire over the phone.

If a call is made after hours, please leave a message so an ORAU representative can return your call.

Individuals can also pick up an “Inquiry Form” at the TVA Outreach Center/EPA Education Center or at the Roane County Long-Term Recovery Committee Meetings. The inquiry form, which is accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope, may be submitted by mail to:
