Post Bachelor Position in Development & Characterization of Materials for Power Generation

The Materials Science and Technology Division of Oak Ridge National Laboratory is seeking a candidate for a post-bachelor's research associate position to support ongoing programs focusing on the development and characterization of materials for power generation.
The selected candidate will use advanced characterization techniques to investigate the relationships between the microstructure and the physical and mechanical properties of materials used in advanced power generation and energy conversion.
Applicants should have a B.Sc. degree in materials science and engineering or a related field. Demonstrated experience in the use of scanning electron microscopy, image analysis software, operation of mechanical testing machines, including thermomechanical analyzers and nanoindenters, and probes for determining thermophysical properties of materials is required. The applicant must have demonstrated abilities in problem solving, collaborative research, and excellent communication skills.
