Early Kesselring Cold Cathode Tube (1898-1910)

An early and simple design from this small manufacturer located in Chicago. The small mass of the target (anticathode) made this tube susceptible to overheating and unsuitable for prolonged use. As is true of most early designs, the anode (on right) is opposite the cathode while the anticathode comes in at an angle.
