NUCLEAR PHYSICS FACULTY POSITION. The Department of Physics at Texas A & M University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Nuclear Physics, with an anticipated starting date of September 2007. Applications at the assistant professor level are especially sought, but appropriate advanced candidates will also be considered. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain a vigorous independent research program at the Cyclotron Institute and to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The Cyclotron Institute is based on a K500 superconducting cyclotron with associated experimental equipment. The facility is currently being upgraded to include accelerated radioactive beams.

Staff Position in Experimental Nuclear Physics at Argonne National Laboratory

The Physics Division at Argonne National Laboratory (http://www.phy.anl.go) invites applications for a for a staff position in experimental, low-energy nuclear physics. The criteria for selection will be based on scientific excellence and potential for original research.

The Physics Division operates the ATLAS accelerator as a National User Facility. The present staff is engaged in research at ATLAS and elsewhere in the areas of nuclear structure, nuclear astrophysics, reaction dynamics and fundamental interactions.

Candidates are expected to exhibit a promise for excellence in research and to have a minimum of two years of postdoctoral experience. The appointment is expected to be at the Assistant Physicist level or at a more senior level, depending on qualifications.
