Upcoming conference: International Conference onn Nucleus-Nucleus Collisions, Rio de Janiero, Brazil. For more information, see the website for the conference at http://www.nn2006.com.br/nn2006/

The RIA Theory Group Annual Meeting will be held in conjunction with The RIA Users Organization meeting in Detroit. The RIATG meeting will begin at 9:00am on Saturday, 10 September and will end at 1:30pm. Directly following the RIATG meeting, there will be a meeting of the RIAUO (see below). See http://www.orau.org/ria/ for details on lodging.

The agenda for the RIATG meeting will be along the following lines:

1) Discussion of the Blue Book. We have been working on this document since the Chicago meeting. It is now complete. We will describe what went into making the document, and will describe the science and recommendations contained in the Blue Book. Copies will be available.

2) Planning for the RIKEN/RIA Theory Center. This proposal was submitted in late June to DOE. We want to inform RIATG of the process we envision for opportunities to do collaborative work at RIKEN through the Center.

3) RIA Theory Group members were involved in other activities, including RIA Day in DC (May). We will describe these.

4) Announcement of the INT/RIA/MSU/ANL workshop on RIA in 2006.

5) New election process. Believe it or not, the elections process for new officers (terms beginning 1 January) needs to commence.

6) The next 18 months: a key time in the quest for RIA. We will discuss what theorists can do and how they can be involved. This will fold into the RIA UO meeting directly following our meeting.

We look forward to your attendance.
