Welcome

A Workshop to discuss the equipment needed to perform experiments at the Rare Isotope Accelerator (RIA) was held on March 18-22, 2003 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The Workshop was attended by more than 150 researchers from the U.S. and abroad. The complete list of the participants is available here.

The purpose of this workshop, which followed the one held in 1998 at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, was to discuss the performance requirements, designs, manpower and cost estimates, as well as R&D schedules for the experimental equipment needed to fully exploit the exciting new physics opportunities that may be addressed at RIA. Copies of the oral presentations will soon be posted on this web site.

Workshop Organizers:
Cyrus Baktash (ORNL) ( BaktashC@ornl.gov )
