Travel and Housing

TThe school expects to be able to handle all reasonable local expenses related to the school. You will be required to submit receipts for all expenses for which you request reimbursement.

Participants will be housed, two to a room, at the Comfort Inn of Oak Ridge, which also serves a continental breakfast in the morning. The local phone number for the hotel is 1-865-481-8200. The school will make all lodging arrangements and cover the cost of lodging. Students will be responsible for any additional charges (telephone, pay-per-view, etc.).

Lunch and breaks will be provided at ORNL and dinner will be held in Oak Ridge.

Participants will be expected to find their own way to the laboratory which is only accessible by car. We ask participants to share rental cars as parking is limited near our facility. Restaurants, shopping centers, and a movie theater are within walking distance of the hotel.

Oak Ridge is easily reached by car as it is near the intersection of I-40 and I-75. Many airlines service the area through the airports in Knoxville (40 minute car travel), Nashville (2.5 hours car travel) which is serviced by Southwest, and Atlanta (3.5 hours car travel). Note that Oak Ridge, Knoxville, and Atlanta are in the eastern time zone and Nashville is in the central time zone.

Maps and directions may be found on the HRIBF web site.
