The seventh Summer School on Exotic Beam Physics will be held at the ATLAS Accelerator at Argonne National Laboratory. The school will consist of morning lectures and "hands-on" activities in the afternoons. Students will have an opportunity to present their research.

The overall aim of the school is to nurture future scientists for FRIB, the next-generation radioactive beam facility. The school is supported by the Department of Energy (DOE) and National Science Foundation (NSF), and by ANL (Argonne), LBNL (Berkeley), LLNL (Livermore), NSCL/MSU (Michigan State), and HRIBF/ORNL (Oak Ridge) research laboratories. It is an annual event and the host site rotates between MSU, Oak Ridge, Argonne and Berkeley.

With the next generation facility FRIB, scientists will be able to probe nuclei at the very limits of existence. These studies will enable us to improve our predictive power of nuclear properties for all nuclei, and understand the processes which lead to the synthesis of the elements around us. New technologies will be needed both for producing exotic nuclear beams and for studying them.

The school is mainly designed for graduate students, but senior undergraduates involved in research, and junior post-docs are welcome to apply. We anticipate being able to accommodate about 50 students.
