<title>ORAU's Beryllium Laboratory accredited by College of American Pathologists </title>
<description>The Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists, or CAP, awarded accreditation again to Oak Ridge Associated Universities Beryllium Laboratory, located in Oak Ridge, Tenn., based on the results of a recent onsite inspection. ORAU's laboratory is one of only four in the United States certified to perform the beryllium lymphocyte proliferation test. This test helps to determine if a person has developed sensitization to beryllium, which could evolve into chronic beryllium disease also known in the past as berylliosis.</description>

Teams will design, build and program their own robot, which will be tested and showcased at the end of the week. Working in small teams, students will also spend the week competing in various engineering challenges, such as suspending a cement block one inch off of the ground using only three note cards. As part of the camp, participants will have the opportunity to tour Oak Ridge National Laboratory's research facilities and learn from robotics engineering research scientists.</description>

This year's tournament will take place on February 4-5 in the Pollard Technology Conference Center and Center for Science Education on the ORAU campus. High school teams traveling from Virginia, New York, California and Tennessee will compete against each other, alternately presenting and then debating the results of their team's research on three physics problems. The presentations and debates will be juried by panels of physicists and physics professors and teachers. </description>
