Membership in the ORAU Consortium provides exclusive opportunities for faculty and students

A consortium of major Ph.D.-granting institutions, ORAU advances scientific research and education through partnerships with academia and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), as well as our investment in the community.

Unique funding vehicles - ORAU’s Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicles may assist member universities support federal customers. ORAU-Directed Research and Development (ODRD) investment program provides a path for funding innovative research-based approaches/solutions with our partner universities.

Professional growth - ORAU’s numerous annual programs offer grants, knowledge-strengthening competitions, and interactions with scientific leaders that will enhance your institution’s faculty and students’ professional growth.

Collaborations - ORAU is principal key resource for engaging academia in the research- and education-related actions of UT-Battelle/Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), the Y-12 National Security Complex/National Nuclear Security Administration and DOE.  Our members actively collaborate with other national laboratories, federal agencies, educational and governmental entities, and the private sector.
