Mission Statement:

The University of Puerto Rico, as a public institution of higher education, has been entrusted by law with serving the people of Puerto Rico following the ideals of a democratic society such as ours. Its principal Mission is to achieve the following objectives:

  1. To transmit and enhance knowledge through the arts and sciences, of the community through the action of its professors, researchers, other personnel, students, and alumni
  2. To contribute to the development, cultivation, and enjoyment of the aesthetic and ethic values of culture.
