OAK RIDGE, Tenn. The International Association of Administrative Professionals® (IAAP) has named Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) the winner of the 2010 IAAP Award for Excellence. ORAU won the award in the category of companies or organizations with fewer than 1000 employees.

This international award, presented annually, recognizes companies for their outstanding support of administrative professionals.

“It is truly an honor to win such a prestigious award—the 2010 IAAP Award for Excellence,” said ORAU President and CEO Andy Page. “ORAU is proud of its administrative professionals. Their dedication and service to ORAU has made all of us winners.”

The IAAP’s Oak Ridge chapter nominated ORAU for the award and commemorated ORAU’s win as part of the chapter’s annual luncheon held this week in conjunction with Administrative Professionals Week (April 19-23).

“This is a big honor for both ORAU and our chapter,” said Oak Ridge Chapter of IAAP President Rita Ayers. “We were proud to nominate ORAU for this well-deserved award and to have the chance to recognize the tremendous support they have given us over the years.”

Over 600 IAAP chapters worldwide, including the Oak Ridge chapter, recommended companies for the award. Nominations were made in one of two categories: corporations with 1000 or more employees and companies with less than 1000 employees.
