ORAU receives University of Tennessee Diversity Award 

Oak Ridge Associated Universities was recently awarded the University of Tennessee Dr. Jane S. Redmond/Pepsi Beverages Company Commitment to Diversity Award

OAK RIDGE, Tenn.—Oak Ridge Associated Universities was recently awarded the University of Tennessee Dr. Jane S. Redmond/Pepsi Beverages Company Commitment to Diversity Award. The award, presented during an annual diversity job fair employer luncheon hosted by the University of Tennessee, recognizes an employer who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to diversity through outreach and inclusions of students from diverse populations at the school. Named after Dr. Jane S. Redmond, the award recognizes her dedication to diversity that was unparalleled during her 30-year tenure with the UT Division of Student Affairs.

UT Diversity Award

Award criteria included:

  • Participation in the 2011 Diversity Job Fair
  • Collaboration with UT Career Services and the Disability-Careers Office
  • Percentage of diverse candidates on interview schedules
  • Membership with Career Opportunities for Students with Disabilities (COSD)
  • Collaboration with other UT campus departments that are diverse in nature
  • Sponsorship of other UT campus departments that are diverse in nature
  • Outreach to UT students from diversity populations

As a recipient, ORAU also received a Rocky Top Corporate Partnership with the University of Tennessee, which is the highest level of corporate partnership, throughout 2012.

Through specialized teams of experts, unique laboratory capabilities and access to a consortium of more than 100 major Ph.D.-granting institutions, ORAU works with federal, state, local and commercial customers to advance national priorities and serve the public interest. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation and federal contractor, ORAU manages the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
