OAK RIDGE, Tenn.—ORAU has been awarded as the sole recipient of a $4.2 million blanket purchase agreement from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to provide peer and merit review services. The work was competitively procured under the federal government’s Mission Oriented Business Integrated Services (MOBIS) General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule.

ORAU’s five-year, blanket purchase agreement with the DHS Science and Technology Directorate Office of University Programs (OUP) includes managing and conducting subject matter expert peer and merit reviews for research, analysis and technical services. The OUP taps the expertise of the nation’s colleges and universities to address pressing homeland security needs by bringing together experts from intersecting fields of study to develop essential research, technologies and education initiatives that will prevent and defend the country from terrorism and reduce damage from natural events that threaten lives, property or other assets, such as tornadoes or floods.

As part of this agreement, ORAU will support the OUP’s mission by providing independent and objective expert reviews to ensure applicants to OUP’s solicitations have the capability to produce high-quality scientific and engineering knowledge and products.

“ORAU maintains a long, credible history of working as a leading federal contractor and is poised to continue to deliver consistent performance, agility and responsiveness to the Department of Homeland Security, said ORAU President and CEO Andy Page. “ORAU utilizes the expertise of our extensive network of major research institutions through a proven process that provides independent reviews with efficiency and the highest level of integrity possible, eliminating conflicts of interest.”
