ORAU awarded Army Research Laboratory agreement

Five-year agreement expands ORAU’s management of ARL’s research fellowship program

OAK RIDGE, Tenn.—The Army Research Laboratory (ARL) has awarded ORAU a five-year, cooperative agreement to manage the lab’s research fellowship program. For the past ten years, ORAU has managed the postdoctoral portion of this program. ARL has increased ORAU's scope of work allowing for greater management opportunities with the lab's fellowship program from the journeyman level up through postdoctoral levels.

“We are pleased the Army Research Lab has entrusted ORAU with managing the increased scope of this program,” said Andy Page, ORAU president and CEO. “Our team in our Belcamp, Maryland office has continued to demonstrate their skill and knowledge in delivering a top-notch program for the Army for more than a decade, and we look forward to expanding our partnership with them.”

The ARL Fellowship Program is designed to increase the involvement of scientists and engineers from academia and industry in helping the Army explore and address developing technologies that meet future operational needs. Some of these diverse fields of study include computation and information sciences, human research and engineering, sensors and electron devices, vehicle technology, and weapons and material research.

ORAU provides innovative scientific and technical solutions to advance national priorities in science, education, security and health. Through specialized teams of experts, unique laboratory capabilities and access to a consortium of more than 100 major Ph.D.-granting institutions, ORAU works with federal, state, local and commercial customers to advance national priorities and serve the public interest. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation and federal contractor, ORAU manages the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
