Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU), in conjunction with Vanderbilt University Medical Center toxicology experts, is currently conducting free medical screenings for Kingston/Roane County residents who have health concerns related to the Kingston Fossil Plant fly ash spill of December, 2008.
More than 300 individuals have signed-up for the ORAU Kingston Project medical screening program. Screenings are ongoing at various medical facilities in Roane County and around 160 individuals have completed the entire screening process. These initial screenings will be completed by the end of March 2010.

ORAU’s directly relevant experience in medical screening programs and its proximity to the populations exposed to the fly ash from the Kingston Fossil Plant make ORAU uniquely suited, both geographically and experientially, to lead a program for the evaluation of human health effects in Kingston-area citizens.
