Research Focus:

“The project I focused on the most was a robotic arm with six degrees of freedom to mount on submersible crafts. I worked on determining a method of assembly to ensure all the arms came out uniform and functioned reasonably the same.”

Experience Gained:

“Computer-aided design (CAD) software is something I hadn’t had much experience with in the past—that’s a big skill I gained, and critical thinking is another. You have to think about how things are going to fit together and how to best design something so you can print it out in an efficient way.”

Thoughts on Program:

“The program was awesome—just to have the opportunity to get into something like this that I had no connection to in the past. It was a great experience. There was really no downside.”
