| Kometatsukun are
thorium-containing ceramic disks that were developed by Yoshimasa
Watanabe, President of Only-One Co. Ltd. of Japan. They are said to have
numerous applications. For example, not only do they kill bacteria and
eliminate water odors, they also improve the taste of rice, sake, wine,
green tea. When brewing tea, the water should be boiled with a disk
immersed in it before being poured into the teapot. When preparing rice,
the disk can simply be placed on top as the rice is cooked.
Size: ca. 2 1/2" in diameter Count Rate: approximately 250 counts per minute above background as measured with a pancake GM probe. Donated by Yoshimasa Watanabe |
